In India, the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA, 2003) restricts tobacco advertising and product display at the point-of-sale (POS). The local government in Mangalore is implementing policies to strengthen enforcement of COTPA through the Tobacco Vendor Licensing. This study assessed the number of tobacco retailers present in the city in January 2025.
